Upon successful completion of this 26-hour course, you will receive a certificate of completion. If you want to become an administrator, you must then register to take the state core competency test (the state registration fee is $200). Florida law requires you to complete both the core training and pass the competency test within 90 days of your employment as an administrator. The state testing schedule is limited, so plan your core training and testing schedule accordingly. To learn more about the state core competency test, testing schedule, and locations, please visit https://alfmacdonald-research.com/.

Our course is exclusively online but provides regularly scheduled interactive discussion sessions to answer your questions. You may work at your own pace from anywhere and on almost any device to complete the 26-hour course. You can register for this course at any time and get started immediately. Once you register, this training course will be available to you for 90 days.
The course contains downloadable material for all required 11 modules and provides access to all required legislative and regulatory materials that govern the operations of Florida assisted living communities. Each unit also includes a Power Point presentation that summarizes the legislative and regulatory issues, contains vocabulary terms to learn, and includes knowledge checks that can be reviewed repeatedly. Video clips include interviews with AL staff and administrators who provide insights into assisted living communities. To progress to the next unit, students must pass a 10-item quiz with a minimum of 80%. Quizzes can be taken as many times as needed to reach the 80% standard. The quizzes really help to prepare you for passing the state competency test!
