Course Overview
The Simulation Operations Specialist course is a program designed to provide participants with the foundational knowledge and hands-on skills needed to support and manage simulation-based education. Learners explore core simulation operations principles, learning theories, and the practical application of simulation technologies to real-world training scenarios.
Course Description
The Simulation Operations Specialist is a 3-day, in-person course designed to provide participants with comprehensive knowledge of the skills and techniques needed to become a Simulation Operations Specialist. The course covers the fundamentals of simulation operations, foundational learning theories to guide in developing learning activities. and the practical application of simulation techniques to real-world scenarios.
In the course, participants will learn how to design and execute simulations, determine appropriate simulation modalities, and identify functions of manikins with varying levels of fidelity. They will also understand the common roles and responsibilities in a simulation center, troubleshooting simulation technology, and the basics of moulage. Learners will participate in hands-on activities to develop their skills in simulation operations. By the end of the course, participants will have the practical skills and knowledge needed to design, execute, and analyze simulations for a wide range of applications.
Target Audience
Clinical educators, faculty, and instructors; simulation technicians/specialists; healthcare professionals.
