Meetings & Conference Space:

Q: What is included with my meeting space at CAMLS?

Answer

CAMLS meeting rooms and classrooms include tables, chairs, whiteboards (select rooms) and a basic AV package.  Many rooms allow for a wide range of setup configurations. Floorplans featuring the dimensions of each room, the various ways the rooms can be configured, and the capacity of each room can be found by visiting the floorplans section on the CAMLS website.

 
Q: What AV is included with my meeting space at CAMLS?

Answer

CAMLS provides a basic AV package with the use of each meeting space and classroom. This includes podium with microphone, ceiling mounted LCD projector and screen, PC, and an HD ELMO projector. Any PC or MAC can be connected to the system.  Visit the Audio Visual Services FAQ section for more details.

 

Q: Is catering permitted to be served in my meeting space at CAMLS?

Answer

CAMLS provides full catering services.  Catering can be set up in the meeting space or directly outside the main entrance to each room.  Visit the Catering Services FAQ section for more details.

 

SURGICAL and INTERVENTIONAL TRAINING CENTER (SITC):

Q: What is the SITC at CAMLS?

Answer

Located on the first floor, the SITC is a 30,000-square-foot surgical skills lab space featuring multiple rooms with leading-edge, clinical-grade technology. This allows for a combination of hands-on training in a realistic and completely immersive environment.

 

Q: What does a surgical skills lab station include at CAMLS?

Answer

CAMLS features 37 surgical skills lab stations in multiple rooms. Each station includes an extensive list of services, equipment and instruments.

 

Q: Are there surgical instruments available for my program at CAMLS?

Answer

CAMLS offers a wide variety of clinical grade instruments for use at no additional charge. Your assigned CAMLS coordinator can provide to you a full list of what is provided.  If you require additional instruments for your program, your CAMLS coordinator can check on rental options. Please share your instrument needs with your CAMLS coordinator during your planning process. A list of equipment CAMLS can offer can be found in the SITC Customer Service Manual.

 

Q: May I bring my own instruments to CAMLS?

Answer

CAMLS offers a wide array of equipment for hands on labs. This includes power drills, C-arms, microscopes, and fully functional booms and towers. A list of equipment CAMLS can offer can be provided to you by your assigned CAMLS coordinator.  A list of equipment CAMLS can offer can be found in the SITC Customer Service Manual.

 

Q: What equipment is available for my program at CAMLS?

Answer

Q: What AV is included in labs at CAMLS?

Answer

CAMLS offers AV in surgical skills labs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and trauma OR. Each lab is equipped with a wireless lavalier. Additionally, most labs offer an in-light camera for broadcasting to any monitor within the lab space, to any classroom/meeting space at CAMLS, and/or globally connecting to any destination outside of CAMLS.  Additional fees may apply.  Speak to your CAMLS coordinator for details.

 

Q: Do I need to order my own cadaveric tissue for a program at CAMLS?

Answer

CAMLS teams with United Tissue Network as their exclusive cadaveric tissue provider. UTN will work with you to provide quality tissue specific to your program needs.  Your CAMLS coordinator will be happy to share additional details.

 

Q: How do I order animal specimens for a program at CAMLS?

Answer

CAMLS works directly with USF Comparative Medicine for all animal specimen needs and is fully accredited by AAALAC International as program #000434. The program is managed in accordance with the Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, the Animal Welfare Regulations, the PHS Policy, the FDA Good Laboratory Practices, and the IACUC Principles and Procedures of Animal Care and Use. Additionally, CAMLS has an Assurance #A4100-01 on file with OLAW/PHS and maintains registration #58-R-0015 with USDA/APHIS/AC. Your CAMLS coordinator will share additional details regarding placing an order and various requirements.

 

VIRTUAL PATIENT CARE CENTER (VPCC) and CLINICAL SKILLS EDUCATION CENTER (CSEC):


Q:  What is the VPCC/CSEC at CAMLS?

Answer

Located on the 3rd floor of CAMLS, the Virtual Patient Care Center (VPCC) and the Clinical Skills Education Center (CSEC) offer a wide range of simulation technology. This includes fully functional exam rooms, large team training rooms and smaller individual training rooms. The VPCC/CSEC feature debrief rooms for pre-and post-activity discussions and meetings. Additional services include virtual reality (VR) simulators, standardized patients and high fidelity infant, child, and adult human simulators.

 

Q:  What rooms are available in VPCC/CSEC at CAMLS?

Answer

A variety of rooms and training spaces are available:

  • 18 Exam Rooms – Patient interviews can be videotaped for further discussion and instruction.
  • 2 standardized Patient (SP) Lounges
  • 5 Team Training Rooms – Simulations are conducted to replicate actual hospital scenarios.
  • 3 Debrief Rooms – For use before and after simulations, these rooms have the capability to watch both live streams and video review of simulations.
  • 8 Individualized Training Rooms – Procedures and skills are replicated with supplies and equipment based upon the program needs.
  • Computer Training Room – 10 computer stations.
  • Open simulation space.
 

Q:  What is included with a VPCC/CSEC simulation program at CAMLS?

Answer

Your CAMLS Coordinator will work with you to configure the best possible rooms to meet your program needs. Depending upon the room, stretchers, manikins, code carts, equipment, and supplies are available. Simulation specialists are available to support a variety of activities. Additional services and products are available.  Contact your CAMLS coordinator to discuss fees.

 

Q:  What simulators are available in the VPCC/CSEC?

Answer

CAMLS offers a variety of simulators such as endoscopic, laparoscopic, endovascular, and gynecological systems. CAMLS features an Anatomage Table, which offers a three-dimensional view of the human body. High fidelity simulators, task trainers and patient actors are also available.

 

Q:  May I bring my own equipment/supplies to VPCC/CSEC at CAMLS?

Answer

You are welcome to bring any additional equipment and supplies you may need.  Please check with your CAMLS Coordinator regarding shipping and storage.

 

Q:  What audio visual (AV) is available in VPCC/CSEC at CAMLS?

Answer

Recording is available in many of the simulation spaces. Live streaming and/or playback is available in the 3 Debrief Rooms. Recordings are also available to be downloaded upon request.  Fees may apply.

 

Q:  How many participants can fit in each VPCC/CSEC room at CAMLS?

Answer

Your CAMLS Coordinator can work with you to plan and configure your program space needs.  Floorplans featuring the dimensions of each room are available in the floorplans section on the CAMLS website.

 

CATERING SERVICES:

Q: Is catering available at CAMLS?

Answer

CAMLS offers catering services exclusively through CBK Catering and Events.  A wide variety of options for all meal needs including breakfast, breaks, lunch, cocktail receptions, and dinners. Options are available for all program sizes and budgets. From the simplest of meals to the most formal of affairs, there is no request that cannot be met.

 

Q: How do I work with the catering services at CAMLS?

Answer

Your CAMLS coordinator will introduce you to CBK Catering and Events at the start of the logistical planning for your program.

 

Q: When can I see menus for catering at CAMLS?

Answer

CBK Catering and Events menus are available in the catering section of the CAMLS website. Customized menus can be created to meet your budget and catering needs. CAMLS onsite catering kitchen ensures that every meal is freshly prepared, beautifully presented with high attention to detail.

 

Q: How do I pay for catering at CAMLS?

Answer

Paying for catering services at CAMLS is easy! CBK Catering and Events will invoice you directly for your catering and service charges.  Any questions regarding a final catering invoice can be directed to CBK Catering and Events.

 

Q: What catering amenities are available at CAMLS?

Answer

CAMLS offers a variety of options to enhance your catering services.  These include fine china, floral arrangements, linens and upgraded dining chairs.  Speak with your CAMLS coordinator to discuss these options and fees.

 

AUDIO VISUAL SERVICES:

Q: What AV is included with my meeting space at CAMLS?

Answer

Q: Is WiFi available at CAMLS?

Answer

CAMLS provides complimentary WiFi. Connecting to the service is simple.  Your CAMLS coordinator will provide instructions on how to use the WiFi.  Special international instructions are available for those traveling from outside the United States.

 

Q: Are audio visual technicians available at CAMLS?

Answer

CAMLS provides complimentary basic AV technician services to assist with your program.  A dedicated technician can be arranged through your CAMLS coordinator (fees do apply).

 

Q: What other audio visual (AV) services are available at CAMLS?

Answer

CAMLS offers additional AV support.  This can include special equipment for panel discussions, audience response technology, and enhanced video recording services.  Additionally, CAMLS is 100% globally-connected in each of the meeting rooms, classrooms and lab rooms for live broadcasting.  Speak with your CAMLS coordinator to receive a proposal on fees for these additional services.

 

Q: What audio visual (AV) is included in SITC at CAMLS?

Answer

CAMLS offers AV in surgical skills labs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and Trauma OR. TRANSPORTATION AND PARKING:

Q: Is parking available at CAMLS?

Answer

CAMLS is surrounded by a variety of parking options. Your CAMLS coordinator will discuss with you options that meet your program attendees’ needs and your program budget. Options include self-parking or pre-arranged parking.

 

Q: What airport do I use when flying to CAMLS?

Answer

Tampa International Airport is conveniently located just 7 miles (15 minutes in moderate traffic) from CAMLS. Taxis, rideshare, motorcoach, and VIP town car services are readily available. To find out more about Tampa International Airport, click here.

 

Q: What are my transportation options to CAMLS?

Answer

CAMLS programs utilize a variety of transportation options.  Airport to hotel motorcoach options are available.  Your CAMLS coordinator can assist you with this information. Uber, Lyft and other rideshare systems currently serve Tampa and its surrounding areas. Taxi rides are available for a nominal fee within the In-Town Zone.   Other downtown transportation options include the TECO Line Streetcar.  Discuss with your CAMLS Coordinator the variety of transportation options unique to Tampa’s downtown!

 

SHIPPING:

 

Q: How do I ship my equipment to CAMLS?

Answer

Shipping equipment to CAMLS is easy. Please be sure to use the following information when shipping your instruments/equipment/supplies to CAMLS:

Q: What do I need to know when shipping large items to CAMLS?

Answer

CAMLS has a loading and delivery area, but not a loading dock.  Large equipment will need to be delivered on a truck with a lift to the ground. The inner dimensions of the delivery door are 62 3/8” wide x 80” high. There is a “cuff” that holds the center post which can be removed if necessary which will provide an additional 2” of height clearance. For more details on the loading and delivery area incoming shipments, and outgoing shipments, be sure to read the CAMLS Shipping Instructions.

 

Q: What do I need to know about large crates coming to CAMLS?

Answer

CAMLS does not have adequate space to store large crates. Crates larger than 2’X3’ will have to be unpacked and then removed by the shipping company.

 

Q: What instructions do I give the delivery driver coming to CAMLS?

Answer

Delivery access is on the north side of the building between Florida Avenue and Franklin Street (there is access on both sides).  All drivers will need to check in with security at the intercom near the service door.

 

Q: How far in advance do I need to have my shipments arrive prior to my program at CAMLS?

Answer

Shipping may be received three (3) days prior to the program’s start date.  For deliveries outside of this period, please obtain pre-approval from your CAMLS coordinator to avoid additional charges. Q: Are there staff members who can assist me with unpacking/packing my shipments at CAMLS?

Answer

CAMLS does not have a shipping and handling staff. Either the client or the designated shipping company is responsible for unloading/loading freight trucks.  The client is also responsible for unpacking/packing shipments.  For more details on the loading and delivery area incoming shipments, and outgoing shipments, be sure to read the CAMLS Shipping Instructions.

 

Q: How soon after my program do I need my schedule my return shipping from CAMLS?

Answer

Shipments must be picked up within three (3) days of program completion.  For more details on the loading and delivery area incoming shipments, and outgoing shipments, be sure to read the CAMLS Shipping Instructions.

 

Q: What are the special instructions for FedEx Express, FedEx Ground and UPS delivering to and picking up from CAMLS?

Answer

FedEx Express, FedEx Ground or UPS 

Please schedule a pickup when using FedEx Express, FedEx Ground or UPS and request signature upon delivery/pickup. Properly label and package shipments, and include the client’s contact information on the shipment, to avoid delays and ensure pickup at the scheduled time.

Q: Are there hotels near CAMLS?

Answer

Answer

Q: What entertainment and professional sporting options are available in Tampa Bay?

Answer

Tampa Bay is home to multiple major league sports franchises including the National Football League’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Major League Baseball Tampa Bay Rays and the National Hockey League’s Tampa Bay Lightning.  The Tampa Bay Lightning play at the Amalie Arena located just 2 blocks from CAMLS. Amalie Arena is also home to numerous musical concerts and shows. In addition, Tampa is home to Busch Gardens, located approximately 25 minutes from CAMLS, and is 90 miles from Disney World and other Orlando-based attractions. Q: What cultural and entertainment options are available near CAMLS?

Answer
