Student Research Opportunities

Hands-On Research. Real-World Impact.

USF Health Innovation and Technology Scholars Program

CAMLS leads the USF Health Innovation and Technology Scholars Program, an interdisciplinary initiative developed in collaboration with the USF Morsani College of Medicine (MCOM) and USF Research & Innovation to expand undergraduate research opportunities in healthcare innovation.

Led by CAMLS, the program immerses undergraduate scholars in applied, high-impact research focused on emerging technologies with transformative potential for patient care, medical education, and clinical practice—including extended reality (XR), artificial intelligence (AI), and 3D printing. By fostering collaboration across USF’s colleges, the initiative enables students to work alongside faculty, researchers, and collaborators to develop interdisciplinary solutions to real-world healthcare challenges.

Scholars engage directly within CAMLS’ immersive environments and broader research ecosystem, gaining hands-on experience that bridges discovery, innovation, and practice—while strengthening the pipeline of future healthcare innovators, researchers, and technology leaders.

This project was supported by the Florida High Tech Corridor’s Undergraduate Research Initiative.
