Our state-of-the-art facility features five hospital-grade patient rooms, six clinical exam rooms, and several individual training spaces, all designed to provide healthcare professionals with a safe, supportive, and realistic environment for learning new skills.
At VPCC, learners use simulation-based scenarios and evidence-based best practices to apply their cognitive knowledge to specific situations requiring critical judgment and quick assessment under stress. Our facility can be customized to meet the needs of our clients, ensuring that their training experience is tailored to their requirements.
We offer a wide range of simulation technology, including high-fidelity adult, child, and infant simulators, combat casualty simulators, and birthing simulators. Our multiple high-fidelity and virtual reality simulators allow for the honing of specific surgical skills, including endoscopic, laparoscopic, and interventional procedures.
Our training rooms are equipped with video-recording capabilities and large monitors for real-time feedback, discussion, and post-scenario debriefing. Additionally, CAMLS has access to over 200 highly experienced standardized patients (SPs) to enhance the simulation experience.

CAMLS is Accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH), the American College of Surgeons Accreditation Education Institute (ACS AEI) and a provider of multiple national continuing education accreditations (ACCME with Commendation, ACPE, ANCC, CHES, CDR) though the USF Health Continuing Professional Development team located at CAMLS.
The Center was also designated the first “Center of Excellence in Education” by the American College of Cardiology.
Focused on key patient safety metrics and outcomes, CAMLS is a leader in simulation-based curriculum design and customizes its programs to the specific procedures and protocols of the client hospital or healthcare system. This includes incorporating into the actual simulations the clients’ brand of equipment being used in the everyday delivery of care. Pre- and post-assessment of all learners is standard and performance reports are customized for each client. CAMLS observes the most rigorous standards of learner confidentiality to ensure privacy and a risk-free environment.
