Dr. Okuda is the Executive Director of USF Health’s Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS). In this role, he has oversight of a 90,000 ft2 state of the art, advanced training facility, with the mission of creating and providing experiential learning that improves clinical skills and patient care in the community and around the globe. In addition to this role, Dr.Okuda also serves as USF Health’s Associate Vice President of the Office of Interprofessional Education and Practice focused on developing interprofessional learning opportunities from early healthcare training to clinical practice. He is Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Morsani College of Medicine and practices clinically in the emergency department at the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital.

Prior to coming to USF Health, Dr. Okuda was the national medical director for the Simulation Learning Education and Research Network (SimLEARN) where he established national strategy and business plans for simulation-based programs at more than 150 U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs’ medical facilities. In addition to his role as national medical director of SimLEARN, Dr. Okuda served as the acting deputy chief of patient care services officer for the Veteran’s Health Administration, where he was responsible for policy development and oversight of the national Office for Women’s Health Care, Community and Preventative Health, Social Work and Pharmacy Benefits Management. Before joining the VA, he was assistant vice president and director of the Institute for Medical Simulation and Advanced Learning for the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, the largest public health system in the United States.

Dr. Okuda received his Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience from Brown University, his medical degree from New York Medical College, and his certificate in Healthcare Modeling and Simulation from the Naval Postgraduate School in California. He completed a residency in emergency medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where he served as their chief resident, and then completed a clinical quality fellowship from the Greater New York Hospital Association. He is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and an inaugural fellow of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare Academy. He has also served as a chair or member of several medical and simulation committees; and most recently serves as a board member for the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.

He has co-authored numerous textbooks, peer-reviewed publications, and textbook chapters. Known for his passion for teaching, innovation and business, Dr. Okuda received the 2017 Distinguished Educator Award by the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine Simulation Academy for the creation of the simulation-based training program SimWARSTM; was named one of the top 25 Healthcare Leaders Under 40 by New York’s Rising Stars in Business by Crain’s NY Business Magazine in 2011; and was awarded the 2017 Healthcare and Medicine Leader of the Year by i4 Business Magazine. Dr. Okuda served as President for the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) in 2022 and currently serves as co-chair of the SSH Advocacy Committee.

Paul Ayres
Director of Sales, Marketing & Business Development

Paul Ayres joined the USF CAMLS team in September 2011 as Director of Sales, Marketing, and Business Development. His responsibilities include the development of business relationships with various associations, industry partners, and the healthcare community to encourage them to utilize CAMLS. Prior to joining CAMLS, Mr. Ayres worked with the Tampa Downtown Partnership as director of marketing and business development. His responsibilities for the Partnership included the development and implementation of public relations and marketing strategies that position downtown Tampa as the premier location for people to enjoy, launch a project, or open a business.

Mr. Ayres has held positions with Hyatt Hotels & Resorts and The Florida Aquarium and aided in the creation and implementation of various marketing and sales efforts. He is a graduate of the University of South Florida with a degree in American Studies and is a Certified Economic Development Finance Professional by the National Development Council. Mr. Ayres is also a graduate of the 2003 class of Leadership Tampa and a member of the University of South Florida’s President’s Council.

Melissa Milner, DNP, MSN-Ed, RN
Director, Clinical Simulation

Melissa Milner, DNP, MSN-Ed, RN is the current Director of Clinical Simulation at the Center for Advanced Medical Learning & Simulation (CAMLS).

Holding a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in Nursing Education/Leadership from Regis University, in addition to a Master of Science in Nursing and a Post Master’s Certificate in Health Care Education, Dr. Milner is a seasoned and highly qualified educator.

With over two decades of experience as a registered nurse, Dr. Milner has dedicated her career to enhancing healthcare services, primarily within acute care settings in rural areas. Her pioneering efforts have led to the development of processes aimed at improving healthcare delivery for a wide range of patient populations. Dr. Milner has spearheaded transformative initiatives in educational programs through her strategic vision and collaborative approach. With a keen eye for innovation, she successfully integrates the latest trends in simulation technology, creating fresh avenues for program enhancements.

In addition, Dr. Milner is a highly accomplished and dedicated nursing educator, boasting a wealth of expertise in healthcare education, simulation, and leadership. Her extensive background in nursing, education, and healthcare simulation underscores her unwavering commitment to elevating the nursing profession through innovative teaching methods, strategic planning, and a steadfast passion for the advancement of healthcare education.

Dr. Milner has authored and co-authored numerous publications and is actively involved in several prestigious professional associations such as the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning (INACSL) and the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH).

Luis E. Llerena, MD, FACS, CHSE-A
Medical Director

Luis E. Llerena, MD, is the Medical Director of USF HEALTH CAMLS and Professor, Department of Surgery at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine.

He holds both national and state leadership positions: Surgical Director of the American College of Surgeons Accredited Educational Institute (ACS AEI) at USF CAMLS, ACS AEI Committees (Accreditation Review and Curriculum), Florida Committee of Trauma (FCOT) Vice Chair, and Florida Trauma State Faculty. He is a course director for key surgical and critical care curriculum, including Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS®), Advanced Trauma Operative Management (ATOM®), and Advanced Surgical Skills for Exposure in Trauma (ASSET®), Stop the Bleed®, and the Fundamental Critical Care Support (FCCS) program. He is an FCCS consultant. Additionally, Dr Llerena is a trauma site surveyor for the Pennsylvania Trauma System Foundation.

Dr. Llerena received both his undergraduate and his medical degrees from the University of Maryland. He completed his surgical residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania/Hahnemann University in Philadelphia and UMDNJ – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Camden, New Jersey. He received his trauma/surgical critical care fellowship training at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, Florida. He is board certified in Surgery and Surgical Critical Care.

Dr. Llerena is an associate member of the American College of Surgeons’ Academy of Master Surgical Educators, master trainer for TeamSTEPPS® and the Patient Safety Education Program (PSEP), and Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator – Advanced (CHSE-A) by the Society for Simulation Healthcare (SSH). His main research interests include military medicine, simulation-based education, patient safety, and trauma education.

Diane Ray, BS
Director of Operations and Business Systems

Diane Ray serves as the Director of Operations and Business Systems at the USF Health Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation.

Diane has been with USF for over 20 years in a variety of administrative roles working her way up to leadership positions due to her dedication, hard work, and exceptional organizational and leadership.  As the longest-serving employee of HPCC, her most recent roles include manager of admin and business services and most recently as Assistant Director.

Diane Ray began her career with USF in June 2002 at the USF Health College of Public Health Office of Continuing Education department.  In March 2003 the USF Health College of Public Health and College of Medicine merged into one Continuing Professional Development (CPD) department under a 501c3 corporation entitled USF Health Professions Conferencing Corporation (HPCC).  As manager of administration and business services for CPD, Diane served as a key member of the continuing education team to ensure operational effectiveness, as well as, assisting with accreditation compliance for activities through annual reports and self-studies.  She was a key member of the team to submit over 8 comprehensive accreditation self-studies that all resulted in re-accreditation.  Diane was responsible for managing the CE administrative team including registration management, fiscal processing, annual continuing education state reporting and activity preparation.

While simultaneously serving in her role as manager for USF Health CPD, Diane assisted in the opening preparations, operations and logistics of the Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS) in February 2012.  In December 2016 Diane was promoted to Assistant Director for Administration and Business Services for CAMLS and is responsible for the day-to-day operational management of support team members including scheduling, proposal and contract development, guest services reception, national curriculum programming, metrics/data collection and analysis, supply procurement, project management, vendor liaison, information technology liaison and systems administrator.

Diane has been successful in her career with USF as she is a collaborative and confident leader who works well across departments/units and provides leadership and structure to business process improvement.

Colleen Reiner, EdM, PMP
Director, Education & Research Administration, USF Health

Colleen serves as the Director of Education & Research Administration for USF Health Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS). She is responsible for oversight over the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational activities at USF Health CAMLS, as well as providing leadership and administrative guidance over CAMLS’ research program.

Colleen is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) with over 17 years of experience in the strategic development of sustainable, educational programs and the creation of research-driven, curricular experiences for global audiences. She has provided operational coordination of instructional design and multimedia technology teams at multiple universities, and assisted in the development of NiH, NSF, and DoD funding proposals to support transdisciplinary research. Before coming to USF, Colleen managed the largest curriculum development unit for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), providing support for 14 Colleges and over 100 departments. In her role there, she collaborated with instructors, researchers and other experts to develop evidence-based STEM curricula for the University’s online, degree-seeking and continuing education programs, including several Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs), reaching international audiences of close to 1 million participants in 165 countries. She has participated in interdisciplinary research on 4 continents, and her original curricula has been integrated into courses and programs by the US National Park Service, NASA, Coursera, and educational institutions around the world.

Colleen received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the College of Motion Picture, Television, and Recording Arts at Florida State University and her Masters of Education in Educational Policy Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Gregory Vannette, BS, CPA
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Gregory Vannette is the CFO of USF Health Professions Conferencing Corporation and the Director, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) at USF Health. He has been with the Corporation since its beginning in 2007. He is responsible for all financial aspects of the Corporation, which includes the Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS). A graduate of Northern Michigan University, Mr. Vannette went on to pass all parts of the CPA exam at his first sitting.

Mr. Vannette previously practiced as a CPA, was finance director of a non-profit corporation, and served as a consultant for non-profits guiding boards of directors and executive directors’ financial and managerial decisions during times of financial crisis and CFO transition. He has over 20 years of accounting, management advisory and consulting experience. He is currently the Treasurer of the USF Health and Education International Foundation.

Dr. Wills is Associate Dean of Continuing Professional Development for USF Health with responsibility for the institution’s accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCGME), the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC), and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).

Dr. Wills has been a faculty member of the USF Morsani College of Medicine (MCOM) since 2003 and has served in a variety of leadership positions within the college including Program Director for the Infectious Diseases Fellowship, Vice-Chair of the Department of Internal Medicine, and currently as Associate Dean and founding Program Director for the MCOM Physician Assistant Program.

Dr. Wills’ work focuses on education of healthcare providers in various stages of training.
He has previously served as a principal faculty member of USF’s AIDS Education and Training Center (AETC) providing training to providers across the state of Florida, been the clinical director of USF’s national Hepatitis C treatment expansion initiative program through HRSA has served as a collaborating faculty member for USF’s  Geriatric Workforce
Enhancement Program (GWEP).

Dr. Wills received his bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Rollins College, and his medical degree from the University of South Florida.  He completed his Internal Medicine residency at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, and Infectious Diseases Fellowship at USF.

Susan Frye is the Interim Director of the Office of Continuing Professional Development for USF Health. Susan has a Bachelor’s in Nursing and a Masters of Arts in Health Education. Prior to joining USF Health, she had a successful career serving as Vice President in multiple major hospitals and healthcare networks. She transitioned to Continuing Medical Education in 2007 at East Tennessee State University and in 2013 joined the USF Health Office of Continuing Professional Development. Here she moved into a leadership role in 2014 where she served as the Accreditation Compliance Manager until 2023 when she was promoted to Interim Director. In her leadership capacity she has successfully written and defended seven accreditation self-studies, including those for the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the American Nursing Credentialing Center (ANCC), and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).

Jeff Sparling retired as a partner from the Tampa office of Ernst & Young as a senior health partner after 37 years. He previously served as the North Florida Assurance Leader and had responsibility for all assurance services provided by Ernst & Young assurance professionals from the Tampa, Orlando and Jacksonville offices of Ernst & Young. Jeff worked extensively with SEC clients assisting clients with various SEC filings, including initial public offerings, secondary offerings, debt offerings and merger and acquisitions. Jeff served companies in all stages of growth, from start-ups to large publicly-held companies. Jeff served a variety of organizations including public, tax-exempt and high growth entrepreneurial entities. Jeff also served a number of private equity funds and their related portfolio accounts.

Santiago Corrada
  • President and Chief Executive Officer, Visit Tampa Bay

Santiago C. Corrada officially began his position as President and Chief Executive Officer for Visit Tampa Bay in May of 2013 where he is responsible for providing oversight of all agency activities. He serves as main spokesperson for the tourism and hospitality industry. Mr. Corrada coordinates effective marketing and sales strategies ensuring maximum return on investment. With more than 20 years of public service and management experience, Mr. Corrada previously served as Chief of Staff for the City of Tampa. Additionally, during the Iorio administration, he served as Convention Center, Tourism, Recreation and Cultural Arts Administrator directly overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Tampa Convention Center. Prior to joining the City of Tampa in 2004 as Neighborhood Services Administrator, he served as the Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Miami.

Dr. Charles J. Lockwood is Executive Vice President of USF Health, Dean of the Morsani College of Medicine and Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Public Health at the University of South Florida and an EVP at Tampa General Hospital. Previously he was Dean at The Ohio State University College of Medicine and chaired Ob/Gyn departments at Yale and New York University. He graduated magna cum laude from Brown University, received his M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master’s in Healthcare Management from the Harvard School of Public Health. Lockwood served his Ob/Gyn residency at Pennsylvania Hospital, a Maternal-Fetal Medicine fellowship at Yale and a post-doctoral research fellowship at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine.  His research has been funded by over three decades of NIH, state and/or foundation support.  He has published 322 peer-reviewed publications (Google H-index of 93; 33,437 citations), 290 editorials, chapters and invited reviews, has 7 patents, co-authored 5 monographs and co-edited 6 textbooks, 3 with multiple editions and he is the editor of UpToDate’s Obstetric section. Lockwood is credited with the leading the research team that discovered fetal fibronectin as a predictor of impending preterm birth and discovering the mechanisms for progesterone receptor activity downregulation in infection, abruption, and stress-associated preterm birth. He has also served on multiple journal editorial boards and was the Editor-in-Chief of Contemporary OB/GYN for two decades winning six national publication awards. Lockwood has chaired and/or served on numerous NIH and FDA review panels, been an examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, chaired multiple American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) committees, and serves on the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) which accredits U.S. allopathic medical schools. He has also served as president of the Society for Reproductive Investigation (SRI) and the American Gynecological and Obstetrical Society. He served on the National Board of the March of Dimes and the Foundation Board of the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM). He is a member of the Phi Beta Kappa, Sigma Xi and Alpha Omega Alpha honor societies, respectively, and has been named to national “Best Doctors” lists annually since 1995. He has received multiple research awards including the SRI’s Distinguished Scientist Award, the NICHD Frontiers in Reproduction Beacon Award and the SMFM’s Lifetime Achievement Award. He is a recipient of the U.S. FDA Advisory Committee Service Award and ACOG’s Public Service Award for his “enduring commitment to women’s health.” He has been elected to the American Association for the Advancement of Science and the U.S. National Academy of Medicine.

Harold “Hal” W. Mullis

Hal is a founding member of Trenam Law, a leading Tampa Bay area law firm, and is designated as the firm’s President Emeritus. Hal is a member of the Corporate Transactions Practice Group and his practice areas include general corporate representation, mergers and acquisitions, tax controversies, tax exempt and charitable organizations.

Linda Olson
  • President/CEO, Tampa Bay Wave

Linda Olson is the CEO & founder of Tampa Bay Wave. To date, Linda has raised over $6 million in federal and local funds to launch and expand Tampa Bay Wave including a total of six federal grants. Linda has been a founder or management team member of several tech startups since 1999, including Yet2.com. Prior to that, Linda began her career running ERP implementation projects for Fortune 500 companies.

Linda is an original member of Startup America Partnership and is currently an active member of Startup Champions Network. Linda also serves as an Honorary Commander at MacDill Air Force Base and serves on the advisory boards at Synapse Florida, Centre for Women, and Visit Tampa Bay. In 2019, Linda was selected to the U.S. delegation to the Global Entrepreneurship Congress in Bahrain.

Linda has a CPA license from the State of Florida (currently inactive), Masters and BS degrees from Florida State University, and an MBA from Columbia University. A native of St. Pete Beach, Linda enjoys spending time with her family, including her two daughters whom she is raising to be future female entrepreneurs in Tampa Bay.

Lynda Remund
  • Past President/CEO, Tampa Downtown Partnership

Serving as President and CEO for the Tampa Downtown Partnership, Lynda leads the longest operating Business Improvement District in the State of Florida and serves and supports the hundreds of business members for their 34-year-old organization.

During her twenty-one years tenure with the Partnership, she has served in many roles, becoming President and CEO in 2019 after a one-year appointment as Interim President and CEO.  She leads the organizational structure, management, vision and mission, and fiscal responsibility of the Partnership, as well as establishing and executing programmatic and strategic initiatives for the growth of Tampa’s Downtown.

As former Chief Operating Officer, and Director of District Operations, her responsibilities have included the development and management of clean and safe operations, beautification and public art initiatives, membership, and events. The most impactful work she guided during this time was setting the strategic direction and management of the Downtown Special Services District (SSD) through an annual contract with the City of Tampa, including facilitating the special assessment budget.

Since appointed President & CEO, Lynda led the expansion of the SSD boundaries for the first time since 1994, implemented a 2023 Vision Plan with four strategic initiatives to support the transformation of Tampa’s Downtown into a live-work-play-learn community.

Jim Shimberg

With nearly four decades of expertise, Jim Shimberg leads the Tampa office for both the Shubin Law Group, P.A. and The Euclid Group. Jim compliments his expertise in local regulatory environments, specifically real estate development, land use, and zoning, with experience navigating both the public and private sectors.

Jim most recently served at the Executive Vice President and General Counsel at Strategic Property Partners, LLC (“SPP”), the developer behind the largest and most transformational project in Tampa’s history, Water Street Tampa. Water Street Tampa is a $4 billion, 56-acre mixed-use real estate development under construction in downtown Tampa along the waterfront, developed by Jeff Vinik and Seattle’s Cascade Investment, LLC.

In addition to his role with SPP, Jim has served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Vinik Sports Group, the parent company of the National Hockey League’s 2020 and 2021 Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning. He joined the Tampa Bay Lightning as General Counsel in 2013, recruited as much for his local real estate expertise and relationships in the community as his legal background.

Prior to working with SPP and the Lightning, Jim spent more than 26 years as a land use and real estate attorney with Holland & Knight LLP. There he held several leadership roles including Executive Partner of the Tampa office, Practice Group Leader for the Tampa Bay Area Real Estate and Land Use Group and Chair of the Firm’s National Land Use Initiative.

Jim also served as the City Attorney for the City of Tampa, where he helped manage all legal issues associated with Tampa’s hosting of the 2012 Republican National Convention. These experiences have given him an unparalleled depth of knowledge of the regulatory process in real estate development and land use in the Tampa Bay region.

In 2011-2012 Jim served as an Urban Land Institute Rose Fellow as one of four representatives for the City of Tampa in a year-long collaboration with the cities of Kansas City, Mo., Oakland, Calif. and Providence, RI, learning about cutting-edge public private developments around the country.

A Tampa native, Jim has a robust network of business and political relationships that span decades, bolstered by a father and uncle who were prominent developers and community leaders in Tampa. Following in their footsteps, Jim is also active in the community.

Jim is a 1981 graduate of the University of Florida and a 1984 graduate of the University of Florida College of Law, where he was a member of the Florida Law Review and Florida Blue Key. He holds the highest rating from the Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.

Mark H. Taylor, PhD CPA

Mark Taylor is the Director of the Lynn Pippenger School of Accountancy. He began his duties over the summer of 2019, coming from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland. There, Taylor was the department chair and accounting professor.

He had been with Case Western Reserve University since 2009 and was the Andrew D. Braden Professor of Accounting and Auditing, teaching courses in corporate governance and auditing assurance areas. He is the past president of the Auditing Section of the American Accounting Association and he also has served on the Auditing Section Executive Committee.

Mark was elected as President of the American Accounting Association (President-elect ’22-23; President ’23-24; Past President ’24-25O), the premier accounting educational association comprised of 7,000 members worldwide.  Taylor served an academic fellowship with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission in the Professional Practice Group within the Office of the Chief Accountant.  He served a three-year term on the Auditing Standards Board, the Senior Technical Committee of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He is audit committee chair and independent trustee on three investment company trusts and has had research sponsored by the Center for Audit Quality two times.

Taylor earned a doctorate from the Eller School of Business at the University of Arizona and a master’s degree in accounting from Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Management.

Dr. Okuda is the Executive Director of USF Health’s Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS). In this role, he has oversight of a 90,000 ft2 state of the art, advanced training facility, with the mission of creating and providing experiential learning that improves clinical skills and patient care in the community and around the globe. In addition to this role, Dr.Okuda also serves as USF Health’s Associate Vice President of the Office of Interprofessional Education and Practice focused on developing interprofessional learning opportunities from early healthcare training to clinical practice. He is Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Morsani College of Medicine and practices clinically in the emergency department at the James A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital.

Prior to coming to USF Health, Dr. Okuda was the national medical director for the Simulation Learning Education and Research Network (SimLEARN) where he established national strategy and business plans for simulation-based programs at more than 150 U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs’ medical facilities. In addition to his role as national medical director of SimLEARN, Dr. Okuda served as the acting deputy chief of patient care services officer for the Veteran’s Health Administration, where he was responsible for policy development and oversight of the national Office for Women’s Health Care, Community and Preventative Health, Social Work and Pharmacy Benefits Management. Before joining the VA, he was assistant vice president and director of the Institute for Medical Simulation and Advanced Learning for the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation, the largest public health system in the United States.

Dr. Okuda received his Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience from Brown University, his medical degree from New York Medical College, and his certificate in Healthcare Modeling and Simulation from the Naval Postgraduate School in California. He completed a residency in emergency medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai where he served as their chief resident, and then completed a clinical quality fellowship from the Greater New York Hospital Association. He is a fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and an inaugural fellow of the Society for Simulation in Healthcare Academy. He has also served as a chair or member of several medical and simulation committees; and most recently serves as a board member for the Society for Simulation in Healthcare.

He has co-authored numerous textbooks, peer-reviewed publications, and textbook chapters. Known for his passion for teaching, innovation and business, Dr. Okuda received the 2017 Distinguished Educator Award by the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine Simulation Academy for the creation of the simulation-based training program SimWARSTM; was named one of the top 25 Healthcare Leaders Under 40 by New York’s Rising Stars in Business by Crain’s NY Business Magazine in 2011; and was awarded the 2017 Healthcare and Medicine Leader of the Year by i4 Business Magazine. Dr. Okuda served as President for the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) in 2022 and currently serves as co-chair of the SSH Advocacy Committee.

Human Resource Administrator

Denise Magid is the Human Resource Administrator for USF Health Professions Conferencing Corporation, supporting USF Health CAMLS, USF Health Continuing Professional Development and USF Health Interprofessional Education and Practice. Denise joined the organization in 2013 and has since been providing business administration and human resource services to USF Health Leadership.

She is responsible for managing HR strategic initiatives and facilitating HR projects that drive organizational change. She oversees the employee life cycle to include everything from recruitment to evaluation, and professional development to compensation for nearly 50 full-time employees and approximately 160 temporary employees.

Denise brings over 20 years of professional experience working in international, corporate, and local government organizations and is a SHRM Certified Human Resource Professional. Denise’s focus for organizational success includes culture, leadership, professional development, employee engagement, competitive compensation, and total rewards.

Alexandra Roberson
Office Administrator

Alexandra Roberson serves as the Office Administrator at the Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS) and fulfills the role of Board Liaison for USF Health Professions Conferencing Corporation (HPCC). In her capacity, she provides comprehensive administrative assistance to the CAMLS Executive Director and other senior executives as required. Additionally, she orchestrates and manages meetings for the HPCC Board of Directors and the HPCC Finance & Audit Committee. Originating from Germany, Alex embarked on her career journey in hospitality upon her relocation to the United States. With over two decades of experience, she has honed her expertise in both customer service and administrative support, demonstrating a diverse skill set cultivated across international borders.

Gregory Vannette, BS, CPA
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Gregory Vannette is the CFO of USF Health Professions Conferencing Corporation and the Director, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) at USF Health. He has been with the Corporation since its beginning in 2007. He is responsible for all financial aspects of the Corporation, which includes the Center for Advanced Medical Learning and Simulation (CAMLS). A graduate of Northern Michigan University, Mr. Vannette went on to pass all parts of the CPA exam at his first sitting.

Mr. Vannette previously practiced as a CPA, was finance director of a non-profit corporation, and served as a consultant for non-profits guiding boards of directors and executive directors’ financial and managerial decisions during times of financial crisis and CFO transition. He has over 20 years of accounting, management advisory and consulting experience. He is currently the Treasurer of the USF Health and Education International Foundation.
